38w4d. Well, the odds of me delivering on 03/03/03 are dwindling…. We are on pins and needles waiting now. We’ve tried many old wives tales and doula’s suggestions and whatnot to jumpstart labor and I’ve come to the conclusion that it is gonna happen when it happens. I have had some contractions though… Can I stop eating eggplant now?! LOL.

Little boy does not move as much as he did last week- which kind of scares me. But when I take the time to lie down, be quiet and do an actual kick count, he moves just enough to stop my worrying.

My nasty cold is gone. I still get some nighttime stuffiness but I feel so much better. Waynell calls every 12 hours now for an update. Cute, but can be annoying. Everyone is just waiting!!

My doctor appointment on Friday went well. She said the green color of the mucous plug is okay- “it’s sometimes like that.” Last week I was 0% effaced with 1 cm dilation- this week I am 50% effaced and “almost” 2 cm dilated!!! I was happy with that! We found out that my doctor is on call on Monday night (now today) and made plans to WALK WALK WALK Sunday. I had a lot of cramps that day- she said that's what thins you out. Blood pressure, urine and heartbeat were great. I measured at 39 weeks. I also lost another pound- 14.5 total now. We briefly visited the baby nursery and then left to go eat some spicy Thai food.

Later that same day was Darrell’s work baby shower. We were floored by how many people came and wished us well. It was a simple have cake and open presents party- there wasn’t time for anything else! The most memorable gifts we received were a “baby’s first Easter” outfit and a “later, I’m downloading” bib. Oh, I howled with laughter when I saw that last one!! When the party ended, I looked at my thank you card list and counted up the gifts to get an idea of how many people were there… 41 gifts!!! Wow! We are really blessed with friends! Right before we left, Darrell held his co-worker’s baby girl. He was playing around with her and sticking his tongue in and out. She caught on right away and it was so cute how she mimicked him!!! I laughed so hard that I cried. I can’t wait to see Brendan do that!!! And she had the greatest baby laugh….

Saturday was spent doing errands and putting baby things together. I put the bouncer and the stroller together. The stroller instructions actually had a bar upside down… which was frustrating. Darrell put the glider and ottoman together… and the colors don’t exactly match on the two. The glider is a dark jeans blue and the ottoman is a lighter stone-washed denim blue. Argh… we’ll have to take the ottoman back when we get a chance!

We spent a lot of time this week painting the little shelf and the letters of Brendan’s name. I am almost done… I just need to put the clear coat on the letters. They are bright! No hurry though, I can’t put them up yet- we’ll give his name away!! I went ahead and took pictures of the nursery without them. Who knows when I’d have had the time after the baby is born! The pictures start on the left side of the doorway and move clockwise around the room.

Come on Brendan!!! Mommy and Daddy are waiting!!!
