29 weeks today!!! I had a Dr. appointment on the 19th. I saw the Nurse Practitioner this time because my doctor was out. She was nice and not intimidating at all. That was good. But my dumb body wouldn’t give a urine sample to save my life! I drank a large glass of water that she gave me plus after the appointment went to the drugstore downstairs and bought a large Snapple and slugged that down. It took more than an hour after all that liquid before I was able to squeeze out a tablespoon or 2. I was sooo embarrassed! Of course, we went to the movies afterwards and all I had to do there was pee, pee, pee!
Another embarrassing thing- I gained 6 ½ pounds in one month! I was so astonished that I went downstairs to my doctor’s normal scale to double check. Argh! So that puts me at exactly 10 pounds since my first OB appointment. Brendan’s heartbeat was good, my tummy measured at 30 weeks/ 30 cm and my blood pressure was fine. I got checked for swelling for the first time today. I thought they just looked to see if you looked puffy. She pushed her fingers into my ankle area and looked to see if the skin bounced back quickly or not. Apparently swelling is when the dent doesn’t pop back up- she called it “pitting”. I also asked about an allergy medication I can take so I don’t die from cedar this year. She told me to take Claritin. Next appointment is on the 3rd at 10:00. Every 2 weeks now!
On the way up to Darrell’s parents for the holidays, Darrell and I stopped off at Six Flags for a few hours. Apparently we chose a really cold, wet day! It was freezing!!! I wore 2 layers of pants and a shirt, a sweater, a sweatshirt and a water resistant jacket all at once! We had a lot of fun seeing the lights and snacking on all the hot foods we could find. We rode some little vintage car ride and saw 2 shows. One was a Christmas show with all kinds of Christmas scenes- from the juvenile to the romantic. My favorite part was ballet dancing they did behind a filmy screen while someone was up front singing. It was beautiful! We also saw a cowboy Christmas show that was okay- and really hilarious when Darrell was pulled up on stage to act like Santa!!! He makes a great Santa!
Christmas was fun this year. Waynell made me a shirt that turned out a bit big. We got a lot of neat presents. Brendan got an M&M ceramic car for his room. Darrell bought me a spa mat for our tub that not only bubbles but keeps the water warm too! I can’t wait to try it out! He also bought a little gadget that plays relaxing sounds. Good for relaxing baths and putting the baby to sleep!! Christmas was relaxing this year- no parties, just family. With the baby shower coming up, it seemed appropriate! Just 2 days! Waynell is just dying to know Brendan’s name!!!
