27w3d. It is getting more difficult each week to live as I normally do. Some days I find it impossible to get out of bed at a reasonable time. I can just lie there and doze for hours. Or not even doze. But when I am up I usually feel pretty good. If I walk around for more than 10 minutes or so my back starts to hurt and my belly gets really tight. I am so glad most of my Christmas shopping is done and the things I need to do in the next week or so are rather evenly spaced among the days. My next Dr. appointment is on Thursday, I have a Christmas cookies date with my aunt Cathy on Friday and Saturday involves brunch with our friend Suzi and Darrell’s work Christmas party. Until then, my only real responsibility is to finish the massive holiday baking I have been working on and shipping the goodies out. Darrell has been a huge help with that.

Darrell’s graduation was wonderful. While crossing stage, the President stopped him to give him a big hug (can you imagine?!) and it was great to hear, “this degree is conferred Cum Laude- with distinction!” The whole time we were there, tons of people poured over to him to congratulate him and hug him. He was so happy and I am very proud of him! He has said several times how wonderful yesterday was!

We followed the ceremony with a small party at Spaghetti Warehouse. The food and company were great! I surprised him with a big fudge-frosted cake decorated with a grad cap and diploma. It was pretty good! At the end he opened presents and then we took a fun series of photos in one of those play booths. That was a laugh! As we left the building, a guy drove by behind me and shouted, “Boy or girl?!” I yelled back, “boy!!” He shouted a hearty “Congratulations!” and drove off. It made me feel really good! :o)

One shocking thing has happened, however. One of the girls on my “Due in March” board had her baby already. The little boy, Caden, was born at 25w5d, weighed 1 lb. 14 oz. and was 14 inches long. I was so sad to see him arrive so early but apparently he is doing well so far. This birth has made the “baby is coming” feelings hit home. I am going to have a baby soon- for better or worse! I need to pay more attention to when I feel bad and rest up. My biggest wish right now is for my son to be born a good size and healthy. Hear that, Brendan? Stay put! LOL.
