I have exciting news to report today! Darrell and I saw our little one’s heartbeat! Dr. Witz called it an “overachiever” already. He was looking for a length of 7mm and the baby measured 8 to 9 mm (Darrell swears he said 8, I say 9). Also, anything over 130 bpm is great for a heartbeat and our little bit’s heart rate was 160 bpm! So it looks like we have a wonderfully healthy little “Peanut M&M” in there (Thanks for the name, Kim)! I am just in shock that I made something with its own heartbeat! How cool is that?! I am far more confident that things will go well now. In fact, we are going to tell my family tomorrow at a get-together. I also mailed my Dad & brothers a card and one to my Mom too. Both of them got printouts of the ultrasounds. I can’t wait to hear their responses! ££ ££We discussed the size of the baby with the doctor. It is the size of a grain of wild rice with the weight of a small eyelash!! That is SOOO tiny. I asked him which end was the head and he just looked at me and laughed. I don't feel so bad now! ££ ££We are doing so well, that Dr. Witz released me to my regular OB/Gyn now. He said to make an appointment with Dr, Gallagher for 3 weeks from now, which I just did. So I will see her on Friday, August 16 at 9:00! I was so afraid that she wouldn’t be seeing new pregnant patients right now. So many people I know have had that happen to them and I REALLY like Dr. Gallagher. I am a bit bummed that I won’t get another ultrasound from Dr. Witz though! ££ ££Dr. Witz then confirmed my due date of March 13, 2003. I was right on the button! He said, “Hmmm… 13th floor, March the 13th… I hope that it isn’t a Friday!” I told him my due date would be the 12th if that was the case. But I can rest easy now- It is a Thursday! ££ ££Congratulations to Meesie on her unexpected news of TWINS! I can’t wait until her next ultrasound, when she can see the heatbeats! Holy TWINS, Batman! LOL! ££ ££Here are the pictures the doctor gave us from the ultrasound. He wrote “Single IUP w/ cm seen.” Apparently that was a cryptic message to my next Dr. It means, “Single intrauterine pregnancy with cardiac motion seen.” A very good message, but where is my “Hi Mommy & Daddy!”??? LOL. They show a big blob of nothing (and EVERYTHING) inside a weird-shaped amniotic sac. Now I have to wait about 13 weeks for features! LOL. Ooooh, I can’t wait for that. I think it is a boy. Darrell thinks it is a girl. We’ll soon see!&& break# break# align#center&& graphic#userurlJuly25Ultrasound.jpg&&&&4&&&&&&&&&& break# align#left&& break# url#userurlPregIndex.html&&Back to front page&&&&_top
