I seem to feel pukey for a few days and then well for a few days. Headaches are declining. I still throw up in the morning occasionally. Morning sickness is definitely improved overall. ££ ££We had our 2nd OB appointment today. I gained one pound, which I am sure is all clothes because my weight at home was the same as my last appointment. First, I signed a form to do the Triple-Screen test (more blood, sigh). Then Dr. Gallagher came in. She went over to the sink by the window to wash her hands and said, “Well, this is dead!” and promptly threw away a very dead cactus plant. We all laughed. Then she got out her little Doppler gizmo and spent about 5 minutes trying to find the baby’s heartbeat. SHE NEVER DID. She was real calm and reassuring but I started to panic anyway. So she left the room and we waited for a few minutes (and shed a few tears) until the nurse rolled in the ultrasound machine. There was the baby, right where she put the wand- beating heart and all. I gave a big sigh of relief, let me tell you! I was soooo scared. This was baby’s first abdominal ultrasound. It was nice not to have to undress! S/he is so much bigger now and such a wiggler!! :o) I was so relieved, that I totally forgot to ask how big s/he was or how fast the heart was beating!! After just a minute or two, the dr. paused the screen for a picture and we were done. She picked the wand up and dropped a big glob of goo on her foot! Boy, did we laugh- and she was wearing sandals!! The nurse walked over and started to unplug the machine and the dr. yells out, “Wait! A picture!” She quickly jumps in and jabs the print button! The picture is just okay, but you get an idea of how much bigger it is!&& break# break# align#center&& graphic#userurlSept19Ultrasound.jpg&&&&4&&&&&&&&&& break# break# align#left&& text#Before she left, she asked if we had any questions. My two were: ££ ££Q: How many people can I have in the delivery room? ££A: As many as you want. (So far, this means Darrell, my aunt Cathy to take pictures, and Waynell. Waynell just recently changed her mind and wanted to be there) ££ ££Q: I have been having a burning pain on the tops of my legs when I lay down. What is it? ££A: Probably nerve pain. She was only a bit concerned. ££ ££So we left to go make our next appointment. We have our 20 week ultrasound scheduled for my birthday, Friday, October 25th at 10:00!!! Happy birthday to me! And another Dr. appointment right afterwards at 10:40!! These were perfect since I have the 24th and the 25th off of work. The only bad thing is that I have 5 weeks, instead of the usual 4, to go stir-crazy wondering if the baby is okay or not. I hope I feel some movement before these appointments! ££ ££After we left Dr. Gallagher’s office, we went upstairs to give blood. That wasn’t too bad, but I did have to give it out of my hand. Afterwards, we decided to go through the tunnel thingy to sneak into the hospital to see the nursery. Oh, what adorable babies!! I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! Then we went to “The Marketplace” where they have a food court in the hospital. I had some Chinese food and Darrell had pizza. It was a great exploratory tour! LOL. And my gosh my hospital is HUGE!! Darrell ran into two people he knew there!!&& break# break# url#userurlPregIndex.html&&Back to front page&&&&_top
