19w2d. As much movement as I thought I was feeling a few weeks ago, I am really bummed with what little I’ve felt lately. I am starting to question whether it was my imagination or the baby has just moved to a harder to feel spot. In any case I can’t wait to feel the “real” deal. I seem to be growing just a tad, but nobody else seems to see it. Darrell occasionally says I look bigger, but is saying that because he thinks it or just to save my sanity?! My Aunt Sue, Aunt Cathy, and my grandfather all think I don’t look pregnant at all. Something must be going on down there, however, because when I lay down my flab doesn’t flop any- my belly stands straight up! And I have a hard time walking for more than an hour or two before my back starts killing me. I think I am just carrying very low, because I feel all sorts of pressure very low down when I sit and bend over. I am just thankful that I still CAN bend over. LOL.

We’ve had a hard week. We’ve experienced our 4th flood since living in this apartment. That was Tuesday- our bed is still in the living room. And it has been raining so the carpets have taken forever to dry and they STINK! It is like moving all over again the way junk is stacked everywhere. It has been hard for me to stand up and say, “Sorry, [carpet man, maintenance man, etc.] I am pregnant and I just can’t lift that.” I feel like a weakling but I am too scared of hurting myself to do anything hard. Here are a few pics of it; I’ll spare you my pathetic bathroom. The first is our bedroom and the second is our hallway.

I have to mention how amazing my sense of smell is lately (which isn’t a good thing at all!). I about died standing in line at Fiesta Texas because the lady in front of us had a very annoying perfume that was driving me up the wall. I had to get Darrell to stand in front of me and he couldn’t smell a thing! But the worst moment (you know you are pregnant when this happens) is when we were seated in a booth at IHOP. I kept getting a whiff of an awful smell and couldn’t figure out what it was. Finally, I realized it was our table! The rag they wiped it off with must have been sitting awhile because I was so put off that I got a soapy towel from the bathroom and cleaned it again! And the table was not dirty-looking or sticky at all!

I think I may finally have a long term craving to report! I seem to want beef broth type soups with veggies and pasta now. I LOVE Denny’s Beef Vegetable soup and the Spaghetti Warehouse’s Minestrone. Oriental Ramen will do in a pinch too but Campbell’s “Select” Beef Vegetable with Barley is no good!

Not as many people on the boards voted on our baby’s gender as I had thought but a lot of exciting stuff is going on right now. Congrats to Becca on the birth of your sweet little girl, Isabella! Also, we were surprised by the early arrival of Nathalie’s twins, Kailey and Joseph. I ‘m sure they’ll grow strong and get to come home and with you soon!

Here was what I wrote on my post about this poll:

Do YOU think it is a boy or a girl??
Here are the facts:
BOY- 2 dreams where baby was dressed in blue, a couple others where you couldn't tell
BOY- On my father's side of the family, I am the only girl in 3 generations (Mom's side about equal)
BOY- IUI tends to get the sperm really close to the egg & I had it done right at O time, which if you follow those gender methods would give me 70% chance for boy
GIRL- Freezing sperm might kill off the less hardy boy sperm
GIRL- Wedding ring old wives tale says girl
GIRL- Heartbeat is always really high (3 times in 160s, once in 150s)
GIRL- Last U/S at 15 weeks didn't obviously show boy parts, though we weren't looking for it...

Here are the votes I received (for the first time, BOY won out 8 to 7!):

BOY: Cortney, Char, Cassie, Lissy, Deven, Melissa O, Jersey, Lorri
GIRL: Cheryl, El, Susan, Valerie, Lizzy, Steph, Amanda

I took another round of belly shots yesterday in my current favorite maternity outfit. I think I have grown just a little since the last set 3 ½ weeks ago, but I think my chest is growing right along with the belly- yikes!

And, of course, I can’t end a post without saying how unbelievably excited we are about our ultrasound on Friday!!! My next entry will be announcing the upcoming arrival of my SON or DAUGHTER!! How amazing is that?!
