Want to know where the title of my blog came from?  Well even if you don’t I am gonna tell ya!!  My Mother!!!  I will never say you didn’t give me anything mum!!!

She used to say this to us all the time when we would ask “Mum, where are we going”, she would always always always reply “CRAZY, want to come?” So when I named my blog that saying popped into my head, and how appropriate it is!!

So THANK YOU mum!!!!!!!!!!

FALL OUT…….

The Scene–

Two adults laying in bed, quietly sleeping like babies
One fan in window blowing on said adults laying in bed quietly sleeping like babies
One LOUD crash to the floor
One of the said adults laying in bed with fan blowing on her (not at that moment)sleeping like a baby sits up and screams
One of the other adults takes his hands and covers her head
The adult with hands covering her head says to the man covering her head, hell that scared me
The man with his hands covering her head says it scared the shit out of me too
Says the woman with the hands covering her head, hey babe thanks for covering my head
Says the man to the woman well I was just hoping that the burgelers would hit me in the head and not you.

This is LOVE folks, this is love!!!

The end is near…..

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

The end is near, the end of summer that is.  This is both good and bad! The fact that school will be starting up soon is fantastic, but the thought of the end of the summer isn’t really a “fantastic” thing in my book! While Fall is actually my favirote season, I do love the sun and fun that summer brings, the long evening in the back yard in front of the fire with a glass of wine, the days of swimming in our backyard pool, the days of the kids running and running around outside without the thought of anything but a bathing suit needed, the bike rides to the beach and around SOPO, the scrapped and bleeding knees–a staple of summer– but with fall comes–full time daycare (school) for free, nice cool evenings and still warm days, bike rides that are not so “sweaty”, mornings that are cool and make you feel awake and just that awsome feeling that fall brings, like there is something “exciting and new” in the air!!!!

Not exactly sure the point I am or was trying to make as I have been writting this paticular post for a week now, other then, shall I SHOUT it out???????

SCHOOL STARTS IN 6 DAYS, IN 144 HOURS, IN 8,640 MINUTES ,518,400 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

YUP!! Fall is HERE!!

The logical wisdom of a 6 year old and then some…..

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

My daughter being a whole 6 years old informed me the other day that monzarella sticks a meal do not make!!  That they were just NOT enough for her mumma….well…..I didn’t want to burst her bubble but monzarella sticks n wine have been a staple in this chics life for years!!!!!

I mean what one of us hasn’t set down to what we call supper during our single years or even our taken years when home alone?  Havne’t you all at one point had: ice cream for dinner and or breakfast?  a bowl of cereal for supper and NO breakfast?  or hell just a big old bottle of wine for supper? (along with one hell of a hangover for breakfast)

I can’t wait for the day she calls me up when she is 23, and I ask her what she had for supper and she tells me “monzarella sticks n wine, mumma”, I am gonna know I taught her well………

A Little Wine makes the medicine go down…..

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Yup–I am opening myself to some good blogsphere bashing I suppose but really, is there a parent out there that hasn’t decided a couple glass’s of wine (or your beverage of choice as long as it contains that relaxing ingredient we call-Alcohol) would make the medicine go down?  Or perhaps make the parenting go better?

I for one am all for it, honestly there are some nights that I crave that glass or two of wine, no AA is NOT waiting for me, there are some nights that the kids are absolutely a whinny mess and I am a whiney mess thus creating the need for wine!! I have learned that when I come home from work totally stressed out and the kids are totally stressed out that I am a much more relaxed and tolerant parent after having said glass of wine.

Here in the US we are looked at as sometimes bad parents because we drink, the US society is so judging of others it is incredible, in other countries it is normal to have a glass or two or maybe four of wine, the French do it, the Germans do it, but here well, we just do it and don’t talk about it.

So in the name of wine, what do you drink in the evening to relax?

 P.S. ******BE NICE******

The Guilt Trip is ON…..

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

The scene: Lexie gets up at 5:30 this morning, standing by my side of the bed, and says “Mumma, please wake me up before you leave for work today”

Me—”Sure Lexie, sure”

Lexie–”PROMISE Mumma, PROMISE you will”

Me–”Yes Lex, NOW GO BACK TO BED”

7:00 AM

Me–In the shower as I am getting ready to get out I hear

Leixe–”MUMMA” (yelled very very loud)

Me–”WHAT Lexie, WHAT”?

Lexie–”oh, okay,”

Me–”what is okay Lexie, what?”

Lexie-”Just wanted to make sure you were still here”

30 minutes and 1 breakfast sandwich, two chips ahoy, 1 pack of strawberry fruit snacks later–

Me–”Bye peanut, Mumma’s gotta go to work”

Lexie–”Mumma, I want you to stay home, please, pllllleeeeaassseeee Mumma, I will miss you to much”

Me–”Lexie, mumma HAS to go to work”

Lexie–”PLEASE MUMMA, don’t go, please stay home”

Me–”Lexie here is the channel changer”

Lexie–sulking, gives me a great big hug and won’t let me go…….

Me–walking to cupboard, with child on my two feet standing holding on to my waist, getting out waffle bowl, walking to freezer getting out cherry vanilla ice cream, walking to table and putting said ice cream in said waffle bowl and then handing to my almost 6 year old daughter with spoon.

Lexie–”For me, Mumma, for me”?

Me–”Yes, Lexie for you, now I have to go to work”

Lexie–”Ok, see you at lunch, love you mumma, oh mumma”?

Me–”WHAT Lexie”

Lexie–”I LOVE YOU MUMMA, but the ice cream will make me not miss you so much”

Me–”I LOVE YOU TOO LEXIE, I LOVE YOU TOO”

Conclusion–Bribery while not the best parenting tactic ever does have its benefits, and if any parent out there says they have never used bribery, well I will lend you my Lexie for a few days and you shall become an expert in oh I give you, about TEN minutes!!

Hand me downs?

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

As I have said, I have three kids, two girls and one boy, the boy being the oldest, the girls being middle and youngest, okay, ya figured that out all by yourself, LOL, anyway, I am always giving Lexie Amanda’s hand me downs, the girls do wear the same sizes in somethings but there are items that are just way to big for Lexie and way to small for Amanda, thus creating hand me downs.

The new school year is approaching and approaching fast, I still need to get my kids everything from the basics, underwear, socks to the not so basics, pants, shirts, shoes…..Matt will get everything new, Amanda will get everything new, Lexie, well Lexie will NOT get everything new, and this makes me wonder how this will affect her self-esteem/self confidence thru out her life. Yes, I tend to worry about ten years from now as well as right now!

Am I being cheap by giving her hand me downs from her sister?  We do get hand me downs from other people outside our family so it isn’t like the other two don’t get hand me downs as some point. My point is that when Lexie starts school all she will really need to get is underwear/undershirts and socks the rest will come down from Amanda.  So when Lexie goes to school thinking she is looking like queen bee and someone comes up to her and says “wasn’t that your sisters” or “you are wearing your sisters cloths” what is she to do?  How is that going to make her feel?  This is a child that has more self confidence and self esteem then any child I know or any girl friend that I have and I DO NOT want to ruin that part of her character! But I also don’t see the need to go out and blow 100.00 on cloths for her when at home she has cloths that are plenty good enough for school.

Any ass-vice on this subject out there?  Please feel free to give me any ass-vice! And yes I am cheap um on a budget!!

3 AM, really?

Monday, August 11th, 2008

What in the world are my two six year old daughters doing to me?  3AM really Amanda and Alexandria?  What in the world could you possibly need at 3AM?  Oh, ya that is right, you had two “HUGE” bugs on your ceiling, well actually just two pieces of lint, but I guess I can see where you thought that lint would come down from the ceiling and “get you”!

Is it gonna thunder mumma?  At 3AM girls, really?

If we have a thunder n lightening storm is the lightening gonna come in the house mumma? At 3AM girls, really?

We can’t sleep mumma, At 3AM girls, really?

You can’t sleep?

Well I can, now go back to bed!!
