Pastor Brown took his text this morning from Obadiah verse 11.   His sermon spoke to the issue that to do nothing is sin.  We had a first as a visting couple brought their twins to church.  We have had many children and babies but these were our first twins.

Architect’s Rendering of Chapel Pulpit View

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

This is the latest drawing which was received by Pastor Brown from the church’s architect.  It is featured on the website of RevitCity.com.  You can view it online at:

 http://revitcity.com/gallery.php

We are excited as the roof is being shingled. When the building is weather tight from the roofing work can proceed on the interior such as drywall, electrical and plumbing.  The vision is coming together on Lincoln Avenue before our eyes.  Each day brings us closer to realizing the dream.

Easter Sunday Service

Friday, April 13th, 2007

New Horizon Baptist Church celebrated Easter with special services which were held in the Cyrstal Room at the Executive Inn Evansville.  The day featured out of town guests, a baby dedication, Easter Baskets for the children, gifts for the Pastor.  Pastor W.R. Brown, Jr. presented Bibles with names embossed on them to the members.

Also a new member joined the church. It was a wonderful celebration and service.  Afterwards we fellowshipped at a restaurant and had a great time.  Of course many cameras were present to take pictures of the children doing their Easter Speeches as well as snapping photos of the baby who was dedicated.
