Crawling!

So now my son has started to crawl! I swear, I don’t know how kids find things that we didn’t even know were there! It’s crazy. He is very much into cords. I have to hide any cord that’s laying out and even then he seems to find something. He picks up anything little on the ground too. Anytime I’m at the computer, he comes and bugs me and tries to type on the keyboard too. I have a hard time getting my homework done!

As much as it can get annoying that he always gets into everything it is pretty darn cute. He has quite an interesting crawl too. He doesn’t crawl on both knees, yet he crawls on one knee and with the other leg he pushes with his foot. It’s quite interesting. He also pulls himself up on anything he can find! I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t start walking around his first birthday. He’s getting his balance down pretty well. Also, he’s not interested in any of his toys! I wonder if other parents experience that. It seems they want everything they can’t have! It’s kind of silly.

My Son Cayden

My son was born on April 14, 2008. He is a very pleasant boy, but being a single mom is definitely tough. I didn’t realize before having him that raising a child would be so difficult and time consuming. Babies really do change your life. Luckily I had him at 22 rather than 16. I honestly am not sure how girls at age 16 can do it on there own.

Besides the hard part about it, I love being a mom. He’s my pride and joy. I can’t imagine life without him. It’s really stop and made me think that life has its up and downs, but we don’t look at the simple things until we have children. Had I not had Cayden, my life may have not turned out as good as it has. Not saying that I was doing drugs or becoming an alcoholic, I just wasn’t hanging out with the right people and I did party a lot and I wasn’t going to college or doing much with my life. Now I’m going to Rasmussen College, working as a work study student there, and being a mom. It’s excellent. I am really enjoying life.

As far as the blog goes, I saw that you could get a free blog on iParenting.com and decided to try it out. In fact, for my Web Media Marketing class at Rasmussen we will be talking about blogs and so I’d have to get one anyway so I figured why not have one with a parenting website so I can share my experiences and ideas with other parents and vice versa. Blogs are not my area of expertise though. I’m not sure what I’m doing except that I write thoughts down kind of like a journal and get comments from other people on what I wrote. It sounds like a neat idea to me. So, until next time.
