A One Month old Samy and Me!

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

We are finally getting used to each other.  I found out she does not like spicy food in her breast milk.  Unfortunately she could not voice it to me in plain language, but in cries and sleepless nights I got the hint.  I have also finished two books on breastfeeding, boy was I unprepared!  Everything I eat she is going to be eating so I have to eat right, and certain foods upset her stomach.  Chocolate and even cow’s milk I have to look out for.

Sleeping together works better for us for now.  She sleeps more soundly next to me, some say it is ok and taboo like it was before.  Sleeping together is recommended for nursing moms, so the baby can just latch on when they are hungry.  Amazingly, she does that, but I have to help her, but there are no crying periods at 2am anymore.

Gotto go now…there is a crying period going on!

Finally!!! Three Hours of Sleep!!

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Well it finally happened, I was able to sleep for more than two hours straight!  Oh the little things we take for granted when we are childless… As some of you may know, I picked up that nasty MRSA in my c-section wound and was prescribed some heavy duty antibiotics.  Well since I am nursing Samy Lou, she had been so irritible after every feed.  I was getting so worried nursing her, she was not wanting to eat.  But since finishing the 10-day prescription, there is such a marked improvement in her eating and sleeping.  As for the infection…it is all cleared up and the wound has finally healed!

Her eyes are finally opening up and they are very big and shiny!  I will figure out how to upload pics soon.  Thanks for all the replies and lets keep this going!  Samy says thanks for all the gifts and well wishes!

Welcome to the World Samyra Lou Celly!

Wow…where did the week go!  The hospital stay was extended, but we survived.  We finally arrived yesterday and are trying to get adjusted to a family of THREE!!  It has been so busy, I don’t think I have ever worked as hard ever before in my life!  Every minute counts in this role called mother and there is no time for sitting around eating bon bons!  We took magazines to the hospital thinking we would have time to catch up on our reading, HUH!! We still have not caught up on our sleep!  But the reward is will worth it…Welcome to the World Samyra Lou Celly!

The Eagle Has Landed!!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Last night the Big Eagle and the Little Eagle arrived on time and all in one piece!! It is so wonderful to see Mom and Dad after so long!  I was wearing a red, white, black and pink sundress and as soon as I saw Dad he said I looked liked a WATERMELON!!  I couldn’t stop laughing, because he is right and I feel like one too!

The loved the house and we even saw a deer in yard for the first time, it was a doe.  We watched her for awhile eat at willow tree and other bushes then Sael got conscerned that she was going to tear up the yard and tried to scare her away.  I think she sensed that Sael was more scared of her, so she did not move!

We took them to Casa Blanca Mexican Cantina, close by the house.  This is a fairly new restaurant in our neighborhood and I love it!  Finding good Mexican food here in New England is tough and we are lucky to have this just ar0und the corner.  We ate so much much last night I was so stuffed and my pregnancy heartburn started to act up.  But let me tell you, every bit of heartburn was worth every spoon of Fried Ice Cream and every bite of Sopapillas!!

We are still on schedule for Thursday a. m. delivery.  The surgery starts at 1030am and my doctor said the c-section takes about 45mins.  I was shocked how quick it is.  So by Noon  easter time on Thursday there will be a new addition to our family, I believe this will be grandchild number 24….. that we know about!! Hee hee U had to through that one in!!

Counting Down! 8 Days till the Baby is Here!!

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Wow… I can not get over how quick this time has passed!!  There is so much that needs to be done!!  The crib was missing a leg so we have not got that set-up yet, we are waiting on that part.  All her clothes have not been washed, ugh!!  We will probably tour the hospital this weekend, which is Winchester Hospital in Winchester, Mass if anyone wants to send flowers!!  Also they post the baby pics there as well.  We are trying to finish off the guest rooms to make sure everyone is comfortable when they come stay here at Cellyland, but Samy’s room is a mess!!  My last day of work is FRIDAY!!  So hopefully I can get somethings done, but walking around is getting harder for me.  My dear husband has now started to pick up the pace with tasks…I think he is starting to realize we are on time crunch now.  We both are great procrastinators!

High Blood Pressure !!!

Friday, June 13th, 2008

As many of you know, I have inherited Daddy’s hypertension.  I know it can be controlled with diet and excersise, but at this point in my pregnancy, I can not do either of those things.  Thursday at my doctors appt my pressure was a little higher than usual with increased swelling in the feet.  So the doctor monitored me for awhile in his office and then recommended I go to the hospital.  I was a bit scared because he said we may have to deliver earlier than Thursday if my blood pressure does not go down.  So off we go to the hospital, my husband and I.  Sael is so good, he always tries to go to every appointment and I am very glad he came to this one.  I was feeling very scared not knowing what is going to happen.

So at the hospital they took some blood and urine as well as completed another ultra sound.  This ultrasound was great, on the othe best ones we have had…we saw her face so nicely!  She has the most beautiful almond shaped eyes!!  By the end of the afternoon, after laying in the hospital bed most of the morning, my blood pressure finally went below 90, diastolic.  That is their most concern, the bottom number.  So they send me home and ordered me to strictly stay in bed!  UGH!!

I feel as if I have so much to do and such little time to do it!!  We finally received the missing part for her crib, but guess what…it was the wrong part!! Ugh…so now my husband is going to have to a Baby R Us to look for that part…or we wait another 2 weeks!   Her room is such a mess right now.  You all know how perfection  and preparedness runs in our family, so you can understand how I am feeling.  But at the cost our Samyra’s health, I will not let it get to me.  I will just let my husband handle it.

So today all day, I did nothing.  Just slept, ate and watched TLC Channel.  I learned what not to wear and I saw a couple of c-sections, so I know what I am expecting on Thursday.  For those who missed me the last couple of days…I am back.  Our internet wifi was down, but my husband fixed it now…so I should be keeping up better with the blogs.  Please keep Samy and me in your prayers!

Heat Wave and 8 1/2 Months Pregnant!!

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

As some of you weather watchers have heard we are experiencing high temps here in the Boston area.  Yesterday is was 100F…ouch!  To top it off we have no A/C in this old house we live in!! We have some window units we have not had time to install, but last night I demanded (nagged) my husband to install one in our bedroom.  As you know, my husband sells software and is very good at it, but a/c installation is not his forte.  Some how, the two of got this a/c set up on the second floor window in our bedroom and it is working fine!!!  So needless to say, I had a wonderful nights sleep.  Now, when you come visit just do not stand underneath this window,  until my Dad or brother come and enforce this unit from falling out of the window!!

As for the Baby Samyra, she moves around a lot now, especially at night!  We have her bassinet ready and we have some baby wipes.  As for diapers, we are going attempt cloth diapers to try to shrink our eco-footprint.  Also,  her Grandpa George does not want his new granddaughter in plastic, he believes the bum should breath!!  I am going to try my best to nurse Samyra (aka Samy) as soon as she arrives.  I hope we can do that, since baby formula is very expensive!!  Don’t you find it weird that with all our technological advances, going back to the basics is best?!?

Hello world!

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Hi Everyone!

Well finally I am getting “with it” and started our Celly Family Blog.  I decided to use this site because it safe for all the kiddos to access if they want to see what their Aunt Laura and Uncle Sael are up to.  But most importantly to keep you informed about our baby2b Samyra.  Well I am officially 35 weeks and  we have a scheduled caesarean on June 19th due to the myomectomy I had in 2006.  The Dr. says Samyra is ready and it is very safe for her to be delivered then.

We have VIP guests scheduled to visit soon…yeah!  Mom and Dad will be here next week 6/16-7/2 and then Mark and Sandra June 30th thru the 4th, then Gita and Vinny will be here on on June 30th as well.  Then Lisa and the Orozco Clan will be here the last week in July to see the Red Sox beat the Yankees at Fenway Park!

I am going to do my best to keep you in the loop about our new adventures with Samyra!  Blog on!!
