Heat Wave and 8 1/2 Months Pregnant!!
As some of you weather watchers have heard we are experiencing high temps here in the Boston area. Yesterday is was 100F…ouch! To top it off we have no A/C in this old house we live in!! We have some window units we have not had time to install, but last night I demanded (nagged) my husband to install one in our bedroom. As you know, my husband sells software and is very good at it, but a/c installation is not his forte. Some how, the two of got this a/c set up on the second floor window in our bedroom and it is working fine!!! So needless to say, I had a wonderful nights sleep. Now, when you come visit just do not stand underneath this window, until my Dad or brother come and enforce this unit from falling out of the window!!
As for the Baby Samyra, she moves around a lot now, especially at night! We have her bassinet ready and we have some baby wipes. As for diapers, we are going attempt cloth diapers to try to shrink our eco-footprint. Also, her Grandpa George does not want his new granddaughter in plastic, he believes the bum should breath!! I am going to try my best to nurse Samyra (aka Samy) as soon as she arrives. I hope we can do that, since baby formula is very expensive!! Don’t you find it weird that with all our technological advances, going back to the basics is best?!?

You mean it reaches a 100 F there? It’s hotter there than here in FL. We just hit the 90s last week. It’s humid here; but we have a constant sea breeze which keeps the temp from soaring. During hurricane season, the breezes are a bit stonger…about 120 mph.
Hey, Laura…so Grandpa George wants you to use “clothe” diapers instead of pampers, huh. Well, when he’s up there visiting you, he could help you wash them by repeatedly dunking them in and out of the toilet in the true “old school” fashion sort of way…the way mom used to do before throwing them in the washing machine. Hahaha!
You’re right about going back to the basics. For good health, you need to eat as close to whole foods as you can. It would be nice if we could simply grow our own vegetables, raise our own chickens, and make our own bread. I think the simple life is a better life….sort of like the way we were raised as far as simplicity goes. It’s funny as you grow older your thinking changes and comes full circle. They say we become our parents eventually.

Hey! This is a great site. We love reading about the Celly Family. It sounds like your going to have plenty of help when Samyra arrives. I’m trying to convince Val that we should go visit you guys in September. When do the leaves change color. When will Samy be sleeping thru the whole night. HAHAHA! You know we need our sleep…know what i’m saying.

I don’t know if I could go back to the good ol’ days!! Right now, I didn’t want to say anything but here it goes…. I think I’m an addict… Yep, I’m addicted to STARBUCKS!!
I do not want to go back to the 70’s or the chickens or growing my own vegetables!! I’m getting the “shakes” just talking about it! I need a STARBUCKS!
See y’all!

Is Starbucks paying you to say that?? I have to say since moving to New England…DunckinDonuts has some kicking coffee at 1/3 the price of Starbucks. Believe it or not DD has the market here!! There is one on every corner. However since becoming pregnant I can truly say I have not had any coffee! It completely upsets my stomach, now iced tea is a different story.
Oh to add to more to the dirty diaper thing, I dont plan on swishing anything. The diaper service says the newborn baby poop is ok in the diaper, but when Samyra starts making bigger messes we just need to shake it out into the toilet. Actually everyone is suppose to do that, even the Pamper users!! That is considered biohazardous waste and does not belong in the landfills!!! Go Green!
