From our perch above the parade, our family took a last glimpse of the White House and the Inaugural festivities. We lingered until the time Mr. Obama was steps from his new home, special blue flooring rolled out on the White House lawn to usher him to the front door. Five months later and 20lbs lighter, I am happy to report that I feel the inner babe that had been lost for so long has finally been found. I enjoy shopping again. I enjoy going out with my slightly younger and stretchmark free friends without feeling frumpy. I know that it may be politically incorrect, but I am happier and more confident when I feel attractive. The Minisink Critters are back for another great year with a full schedule of activities and projects.
In September we met at our local park for one of the messiest projects ever! We used black walnuts and poke weed berries to naturally dye fabric squares. Club members tried two different methods to color their cloth. One method was to make two dye baths, simmering the cloth in each dye color for about 1/2 hour. The other was to simply rub the nuts or berries directly onto the fabric. The results were interesting and surprising..
